the culture garden
earth learning, foodscape designs, and partners will create a beautiful public space on the southeast corner of n.w. 12th street and 3rd avenue to engage the local community and produce a healthy local food culture
the space will be framed on all sides by repurposed and retrofitted shipping containers, infused with a lush edible landscape, and painted outside by local artists
the culture garden will function as a public space and event venue and contain a courtyard with communal seating, a farm cafe (using mobile kitchen), food marketplace, and related retail spaces
urban regenerative design center
on the same city block adjacent to the culture garden, earth learning will inaugurate an urban regenerative design center
the design center will function as a collaborative co-working space resilient designers, showcasing various productive landscapes and multiple appropriate technologies
one+ acre design center (spanning almost a whole city block), will host an urban farm, a compost hub and a specialty nursery
the hub at island living
earth learning will occupy 5,000 feet of retail space designated for non-profit use on the ground floor of island living (1201 nw 3rd avenue), an income sensitive residential building that opened in June of 2016
here we will host several social ventures, including a fine dining restaurant, a coffee shop and a “made in overtown” retail store
